Representative Self

Have you ever heard something about another person that was totally contrary to your own experience? I believe part of that is because the energy we exude impacts how others interact with us. So my (mostly positive) energy elicits a totally different reaction than someone else’s energy.

Or maybe the person in question hasn’t discovered and/or decided who they want to be …

“I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” Romans 7:15 NIV

Intentional Impact

Self-awareness is scary and hard. Because once you understand the consequences of your choices, once you realize the responsibility for your life choices lie with you, once you acknowledge your role in creating your life, you have to choose to do something …or not.

You can choose to intentionally impact your life or not choose and be unintentionally be impacted by your life. Not choosing is a choice.

People can be divided into three groups. Those who make things happen, those who watch what happen, and those who wonder what happened”. ~ Anonymous

Careless Comments

Be impeccable with your word.” ~ don Miguel Ruiz.

Have you noticed how one negative comment can negate a thousand positive praises? Like any decision, what we decide to say has consequences. Likewise, NOT deciding, intending or being deliberate and conscious about the possible impact of our words is also a choice.

How people receive and respond to what we say is their responsibility. Making sure we share our words in truth AND love is our responsibility.

Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift.” ~ Ephesians 4:29 MSG

Intention

I start any workshop I do by asking the participants to think of their intention for our time together. I remind them we are co-creating the experience we’re about to have…and if they want, expect and intend for our experience to be great, it probably will be.

Because it doesn’t matter how flawlessly my words flow, how important the topic or how we came to be in the same space, what they take from the workshop is as a much a function of their preparedness as mine.

“But the seed in the good earth—these are the good-hearts who seize the Word and hold on no matter what, sticking with it until there’s a harvest.” Luke 8: 15, The Message
